1) Plant Maintenance/Laborer
Job Summary:
Perform all aspects of plant care and maintenance including, but not limited to, watering, feeding, moving and tagging plants, loading and unloading vehicles, ring register if necessary. Job responsibilities are to be carried out in an organized and time efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Unloading all trucks and loading customers vehicles.
- Watering and feeding plants – Including perennials, nursery stock, annuals, and trees.
- Putting tags on plants.
- Setting up watering systems – Learning the plants so you know what to put where.
- Dead-heading and pruning of all plants.
- Moving plants – learning to run the forklift.
- Keeping plant displays looking good – including weeding and mulching.
- Pack houses and year end inventory.
- Repotting and healing in plants.
- Making sure all water is off at end of day and ALL hoses are rolled up.
- Greeting customers & loading their cars, if necessary.
Qualifications:
Full/Part Time, willingness to learn, work weekends, able to take instruction, lift a minimum of 50 lbs, efficient and dependable.
2) Salesperson
Job Summary:
Perform all aspects of sales duties including but not limited to greeting customers, educating them on different varieties of plants, collecting monies, and supervising others to make sure the customer’s car gets loaded. Making the customer’s experience a pleasurable one through prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service. Job responsibilities are to be carried out in an organized and time efficient manner. Definite room for advancement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greeting customers.
- Teaching them about annuals, perennials and nursery stock.
- Selling all garden related and seasonal merchandise.
- Cashiering if necessary.
- Tagging merchandise, if necessary.
- Watering Stock, if necessary.
- Unloading plants and materials off of delivery trucks, if necessary.
- Keeping plant displays full and presentable.
- Perform other duties assigned as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications/Experience:
Full/Part-time; career oriented; outgoing; dependable; knowledge of nursery stock preferred but not required with willingness to learn; able to take instruction; work weekends and holidays.
3) Cashier/Clerk
Job Summary:
Perform all aspects of Cashier/Clerk duties including but not limited to greeting customers, educating them, collecting monies, seeing their vehicle gets loaded, keeping store stocked and clean along with other miscellaneous duties. Job responsibilities are to be carried out in an organized and time efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
- Opening and Closing Store.
- Answering the Phone
- Running the cash register – thus learning codes and operations
- Restocking store – Keeping re-orders in appropriate book
- Unloading trucks, pricing and putting products away to include any necessary paperwork
- Store Displays – including but not limited to seasonal
- Keeping store presentable
- Sales of Annuals and Perennials if necessary
- Inventory – All aspects
- Taking Care of Front Greenhouse
- Perform other duties assigned as directed by supervisor
Qualifications/Experience:
Full/Part Time, Willingness to learn, able to take instruction, work alone, work weekends and holidays, efficient, dependable and organized.
